The custom partial fitted for you by Dr. Damon T. Armstrong effectively restores the function and appearance of your missing teeth. Even though it is made out of artificial materials that aren’t susceptible to bacteria and tooth decay, it will still need important consideration in your oral hygiene routine and daily activities.

Many people that use a partial find that denture adhesive helps secure the unit in place while also helping to block out food particles. If a few food particles come between your partial and your gums, you should thoroughly rinse them and any residual adhesive away. You can then reapply more denture adhesive to the clean surface.

At the end of the day, when you take your partial out, you need to rinse away all residual denture adhesive. This will provide you with a clean, smooth surface to which to reapply the denture adhesive the next day.

You can then brush your partial with a soft bristled toothbrush and denture polish to clean it of any residual plaque and food particles. Once your partial is clean, you should soak the partial overnight in water and keep it in a safe place.

With your partial put away, you should brush and floss your natural teeth, as you would in your regular oral hygiene routine. Make sure to floss around the gum line of the teeth neighboring the partial.

If you have questions about the best way to clean and maintain your partial, you should call Armstrong Dental at 208-785-3310 to schedule an appointment.
